Prof. Dr. Abadio Green (Panamá – Colombia)
Project in partnership: Wisdom of Mother Earth
Dr. Abadío Green, indigenous Gunadule (Panama and Colombia) is a specialist in the culture of his people.
It is the first Indigenous professor at a university in Colombia. He developed a new subject called “Pedagogy of Mother Earth” and teaches at the University of Antioquia in Medellin.
Its educational approach is based on traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples and from that developed an intercultural curriculum and degree for teacher training while a master’s degree for research on educational forms of indigenous peoples, which implies a complex balance for young people to transmit traditional knowledge of their own people and use them simultaneously for the challenges of the global world.
The career will soon be open for non-indigenous students.
Professor Green is also theologian and philosopher at the Pontificia Universidad Bolivariana, in Medellin, Colombia, Magister in Ethnolinguistics of the University of the Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Doctor of Education, with emphasis in Intercultural Studies at the University of Antioquia, UdeA, Medellin. Ancestral knowledge and skills in the native language works, as a trace of the ancestors, Mother Earth pedagogy, history and ancestral thought Gunadule
